My Birthday Dinner

Photobucket
This was absolutely delicious! We usually have a similar dish but with breaded chicken but this was so much better with grilled chicken.

This is what I used plus Olive Oil, broccoli, Garlic Bread Sticks and Parmesean Cheese

FREE BluRay Movie on your Birthday

I thought this was pretty cool. If you are a member of Disney Movie Rewards they will send you an email on your birthday with a code for a FREE BluRay Movie. You only have to pay shipping which was $2.95. I was able to choose from 5 different movies and they were all pretty decent. I chose High School Musical 2 because we don't have that yet and my daughter loved it.

Also a great perk from joining DMR you can upgrade your current DVD for a BluRay. You have to put in the movies UPC and then you are able to print a $10 off coupon. This made for really cheap Toy Story and Toy Story 2 BluRays this week!

*shipping will be 8-10 weeks for the BluRay

Another year closer to 30

Today I turn 29, blah! The past week I have been reflecting on who I use to be before I had kids and when it was just my oldest daughter and I. I have changed so much. My personality, goals, looks and much more has changes significantly. I have become more of a homebody and rarely care what I look like. Could it be because I have 4 kids now? Could it be pure laziness? Could it be that my husband says he doesn't care what I look like? Hmmm...I think it could be a bit of all of those questions.

After thinking of this I started changing some things. I don't want to be that frumpy mom that is picking up her kids from school that their kids are embarressed of. So I started with my appearance. I am going to start looking more put together although I may miss my sweatpants I can't continue to wear them. I have also been trying to be more upbeat and have been getting out of the house more. This is the reason for my posting absence.

Speaking of my past, when my oldest daughter was maybe 2 or so my mother and I built this house in a span of 2 weekends.

We got the plans from a book my father had and purchased all the materials for under $250 and we are shocked it is still standing! The roof doesnt' even leak! It needs alittle maintenence this year but very minor stuff and it looks like Macy and my neice Arden will be able to enjoy it when they started walking.

Thinking that far back, man I had alot of energy! Even the thought of building something like that makes me tired.

Here are just some random pictures from this past week

I just don't get it!

Last night was pretty rough. Cameron woke himself up coughing and eventually threw up all over the bed. For the rest of the night he just kept coughing and whining. It so difficult to get him to take any kind of medicine. After an hour of on and off trying I finally got him to take something and he went to sleep for a good 3 hours and was back to coughing and whining again. Now he is sleeping and I am not looking forward to waking him so we can take the older 2 to school.

Today was a planned day for me to watch Big Boy and his sister so we informed them about Cameron and the mom didn't even bat an eye. I remember being in a work situation where my boss said I had to come to work or I would be fired so maybe that's the case with her. I just don't get it, why are employers like that? Why would she want her kids to be around another sick child? I hope her kids don't get sick!

To top my day off our washer was leaking and it now needs to be replaced. We can't run the washer because the floor needs to dry out and then my husband needs to assess the damage. Ugghh I don't want to use disposable diapers and I have bedding that needs washing. I have not ever used a laundromat and I can't say I would even wash my cloth diapers in them. Hopefully my mom comes to the rescue and I can wash over at her house.

I was looking forward to going to Old Navy to use my 30% off friends and family coupon! Looks like I will need to fit it into our weekend schedule.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Here is the dress I made a few days ago. She loves it! She came home from school saying the girls gave it 2 thumbs up, they were even looking for the tag wanting to know where she got it from.

The kids are enjoying the leprechaun pranks, I'm still waiting for someone to see the green toilet water heehee!

Target Deal

Currently Target has a coupon here for $5 off a $30 CIRCO kid's apparel purchase and all this week CIRCO kid's clothing is on sale for $3 each. I picked up some really cute boy's 5T shirts and shorts for Cameron and some cute 12M tops for Macy. They also have dresses and matching shirt/pant setsm for $6. This is a great deal considering boys are so hard on clothes in the Spring and Summer months.

I have been so busy with the kids lately. It's been a great weightloss plan, not that I recommend going out and having 4 kids, 3 of which are 2 yrs apart but they keep you moving especially when it's nice out.

I have been slowly working on easter baskets. I have 2 of the 4 liners complete. I need to get more elastic to finish the others. I thought it would be cute to make the boy's capes so I did that and finished them up this afternoon during nap.
I also made Macy this dress. I love the elephant fabric

I went to ShopRite early Sunday morning. Spent $46, I think our new weekly grocery goal will be $75 or $300/month. We have been eating off of our stock of meat and pantry items. I mainly went to get snacks and breakfast items like oatmeal and granola bars.

This evening I have to figure out how to stamp the kids hand with a green clover without them waking up. My mom did this when I was growing up, she told us a leprechaun came and kissed us to give us good luck. I flaked and forgot to look for a clover stamp, so I am going to attempt to draw a 4 leaf clover on their hands. I also need to put together pots of gold to place by their beds and hide gold coins for them to find.
Whew so much to do and so little time.

Boring Rainy Day

Woke up this morning to it pouring down rain outside. Chris had to work from 9am-1pm and I did not feel like being stuck inside so we ventured out.

I took all 4 kids to the Post Office, Dollar Store (great place to go to get the kids cheap activities for a rainy day, plus it didn't bother me that they wanted everything), Target and Walmart. Towards the end the older 2 started acting up. They love walking away and doing there own thing, no matter how much I yell at them and tell them they need to stay by the cart they just will not listen.

When we got back home we got soaken wet running inside, Cameron wanted to take his sweet 'ol time.

The rest of the day I have been organizing my craft supplies. I tried freezer paper stenciling words on a scrap piece of fabric, it just isn't working out right. This is something I need to do when the kids aren't hovering. I also decided to make Anthoney's St. Patrick's Day gifts for his friends at school. He only has 4 classmates so I try to take advantage of this and make them a little something.

This is what I made, it's a pot of gold! I used a small terra cotta pots, painted them black. Placed green easter grass in the bottom with 4 gold wrapped reeses cups.

I got more fluffy mail today! I was so excited to get 6 Bum Genius AIO diapers, I have been using cloth since Cameron was 6 months old and I have never tried these. I'm going to have to take another picture of my cloth diaper stash as it has grown quite a bit since the last picture.

I have beans and smoke sausages in the oven for dinner, something good but nice and filling on this cold rainy day.

After dinner I plan on making my grocery list for my trip to ShopRite tomorrow. I think I saw a few things in the sales ad I wanted to get.
