Grrrr..Shelf Clearers!!

Ok, so I haven't been to CVS since the 16th of January because I haven't been feeling well and haven't seen any must have items. Well today I had all intentions to get up early like I do most Sunday's and go do my weekly shopping. I didn't get out until a bit after 10am. I made up my scenarios before I left even did a just in case scenario. I really just needed Huggies nightime diapers and Pull Ups and I wanted to get the Revitalift for my mom as I am proud I don't need it quite yet. So really the only items I was in search of was the Revitalift for $5.99 and it was all gone!! I know CVS in general doesn't stock to well. I asked the cashier and she said they had several and to check back later in the week. Why must people take all that is on the shelf, seriously I know there are limits but why be greedy! OK, I am getting down from my soap box now...

On a good note, I went to Weis and got 8 boxes of Stickers fruit snacks for $0.00 and walked away with 2 $2.50 on your next order...and yes there were still more boxes left :)
They are on sale for 4 for $4 and there is a catalina promotion when you buy 4 you get $2.50 catalina.

There is a $.50 off coupon in the paper today which doubled to $1.00 and between my papers and my mom's I had 8 coupons.

I totally feel your pain on the shelf clearers. If I have several coupons for the same item I wait until the last day of the sale and then get what I can and a raincheck for the rest. I hate it when there isn't anything left and you see 1 person pushing around a cart with 5-10 and you know she didn't care that she took them all. Ok I'm off my soapbox now.

Oh Yea! When you actually see the culprit it makes my blood boil! Maybe it's because I have a good stockpile I only need to replenish what we have used so I don't clear the shelves and don't get me wrong I have take the last of something but usually only if I truly need it. It's tough when an item that produces extra bucks or register rewards is wiped out because then you lose out on the best deal.

You can't just assume that one person, or two people took all the items. If they only had 5 items, its very possible that five people came in and each bought one.
I find this typical. When a sale item is gone, people assume that one or two people came in a took everything.

It's not just this incident, in general people need to be curteous. BUT in this economy I have noticed people are in it for themselves so lesson learned I will be waking my sick self up early as usual on Sunday to get what I want.

I feel your pain - my CVS's (I have four within 10 miles) NEVER have anything. It's ridiculous. I never got ANY of the throat coolers last month because every single time I went they were out. I gave up. I have to go on Sunday's or Tuesdays whenever they get trucks or don't bother. That's why I quit going to Walgreens as they never have anything on sale.

Where I live in NYC, when CVS has a really good deal that I cannot pass up. I leave my hubby with the kids and go visit my friend who lives 3 blocks away from a 24 hour CVS, I make sure that the two of us are in the store a few minutes to 12 to get what I want then we wait for the manager to tell us its a go.
That is the only way I can get the things that I need, before the shelf clearers get there! I feel your pain

Hey Momma! I'm soooo loving the screen name. :) I'm from the p.com October 07 Mommies and Fiery had posted your blog. I've become obsessed with saving as I'm supporting a family of 3 on just my income (and hopefully one on the way.) Anyway, I seen you were talking about the double coupons (one from your moms paper too) and I had tried to use two coupons for one item and the stores don't let me. Is that what you were talking about or you just mean you have two coupons for two items?

I am so flattered Fiery is getting the word out on my blog.

By double coupons I mean the store doubles them automatically up to 50 cents.
Every store is different so you want to ask about the coupon policy first.
